SoyTaboo is a free word game that opens in the browser. SoyTaboo is an independent project made in Uruguay. This page does not publish company details or a tax address, and it is not legal advice. When the text changes, the date above changes.

The game

You can play Taboo and Time Trial without creating an account and without paying for a game. You need a browser with JavaScript and a connection to load the cards. The game is meant for two teams in the same place, sharing one phone. The app handles time, cards and the score. People give the clues and decide whether an answer counts.

The concrete rules are in the Taboo and Time Trial guides. If a guide and a live game disagree, what the app does at that moment is what counts.

Who can play

It is a word pastime for groups. The person hosting the gathering decides whether the tone fits the people in the room, especially when children are there. No registration is required. Do not put passwords or sensitive data in team names: a nickname is enough.

Acceptable use

Use the site to play, read the guides and send comments in good faith. Do not try to disrupt the service, access other people's data, or use the form or the contact address to send advertising or illegal content.

Comments you send

If you send a suggestion, a bug report or another comment, the message can include an optional rating and email address. That submission is stored so it can be read and, if needed, answered. You do not have to write. The details are in Privacy.

Third-party services

To work, the site uses services from other companies:

• Supabase, to load cards and store game records.
• Amplitude, for usage statistics and, for a sample of visits, session replay.
• Google AdSense, to show ads on some guides. The screens where you play do not load those ads.

Those providers handle data under their own policies, linked from the privacy page. This site does not control cookies Google may use on pages that show ads.

Intellectual property

The guide text, the app design and the word selection prepared for SoyTaboo belong to the project, unless stated otherwise. You can share links to the public pages. You do not need permission to play.

Taboo is also the name of a well-known commercial board game. SoyTaboo is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the publishers of that game.

Advertising

Some guides may show Google ads. Playing does not require a payment or an in-game purchase. An ad is not a recommendation from the project. If an ad does not suit you, use the Google ad controls mentioned on the privacy page.

Availability

The game is offered as it is, and for free. There can be interruptions, a wrong card, rule changes, or pages added or removed. There is no promise that the site will be available all the time, or that a game saved in the browser will be kept.

Responsibility

To the extent allowed by applicable law, the project is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the site, a game among friends, or a third-party ad. The game is entertainment. It is not an educational, medical or professional service, even if you use it in a classroom or an office.

Changes

These terms can be updated. The date above changes when the text changes. Continuing to use the site after an update means you have read the new version.
